The quality of staff in Nurseries and pre-school has long been known to have the most far-reaching, positive impact on children’s development and learning.
At the Angmering Day Nursery, our staff are committed and motivated in the care and education of our children. They have been carefully selected on the basis of their qualifications, experience and their observed interactions with children. All members of our team are qualified or are in the process, of qualifying to level 3 or above.
Our team all hold a current Paediatric First Aid certificate and level 2 food hygiene as well as child protection certification and DBS (formerly CRB). We employ consistent full-time members of staff to ensure your child always feels secure and confident and work to well over the adult-child ratio that Ofsted requires, in order that we cover any eventuality.
As a nursery, we are committed to supporting the on-going professional development of our staff through local courses, staff meetings, in-house training and recognised childcare qualifications. Through doing this our staff keep up to date with current thinking and developments in the industry, which in turn give our children more enriched and positive learning experiences when they attend here.
Our Nursery Team
Angmering Day Nursery is led by Juliet who has spent many years teaching early years children in primary schools. She holds a Bachelor of Education (hons), QTS, PGCE and ETS.
Research has found that children who attend nurseries with a qualified teacher on the staff make significant progress compared to others. With this in mind, Juliet steers and supports the nursery team to ensure that every child who attends receives targeted support according to their needs and is appropriately challenged
Juliet also works as the nursery special educational needs coordinator (SENCO) is on hand to offer support and guidance and works in partnership with parents, key-persons and other professionals to ensure children’s individual needs are identified and met.
Our nursery manager Laura holds a level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education. She has been working in nurseries for 12 years and so has a wealth of experience and knowledge to run the nursery, which she does brilliantly with the support of our nursery team.
Laura prides herself on knowing each child and family as individuals and works hard to ensure that the parent partnership with the nursery is strong. She also ensures that she liaises regularly with the local schools to ensure that our children are well prepared on their transition to their next adventure.
Our nursery team of Early Years Educators are all selected with great care. They are all committed and caring individuals who always have the best interest of the forefront of their minds. All of the team have a key person responsibility and so have a small group of consistent children who they focus on each session. They are responsible for maintaining the children’s Learning Journals and liaise each day with parents regarding their child’s progress and development.
